Also man used a knife to attack people at the Notre Dame Basilica in Nice, France, Thursday, killing three people, authorities say. Several more were injured. Police have arrested a suspect, according to Mayor Christian Estrosi.
France has been under fire since the issue of a teacher, teaching a student with the animation of Mohammed, Islam holy prophet. The Muslims think it’s sheer disrespect while the government of France thinks otherwise. This has incurred some derogatory exchange of harsh words from the leaders, with France saying they would not encourage Muslim immigration or let Islam graze the cover as one of their religion. Two people were killed inside the church, and another died outside it, according to local media reports. “Very clearly, it was France that was attacked,” French President Emmanuel Macron said outside the church in Nice, after hurrying to the site of the attack. “If we are attacked another time, it’s because of our values,” our freedoms and the ability to believe freely without giving in to terrorism, Macron said.
“I say it with great clarity once again today: We will not give in to it,” he added, after denouncing what he called an act of Islamist terrorism.
