VS 1:
Seven years after school
Brother Ben still dey wait, o
Dem say no work for the town
But people keep getting jobs
The preacher says don’t worry son
Your miracle is on the way o
Same words he’d heard before
About seven years ago

Pre-Chorus:
The matter fit to take long
But joy go come
I know you can
So Lord, please make away

Chorus:
I will wait
I will wait for my miracle
I will wait
I will wait for my miracle
No matter what it takes
I will wait for my miracle
I know you can
I know you’ll make away.

VS 2:
Ten years after the wedding
Sister Ruth still dey wait o, why
Can’t seem to have a child and she can’t tell the reason why
The preacher says don’t worry girl
Your miracle is on the way, o
Same words she’d heard before
About ten years ago.

Pre-Chorus:
The matter fit to take long
But joy go come
I know you can
So Lord, please make away.

Chorus:
I will wait
I will wait for my miracle
I will wait
I will wait for my miracle
No matter what it takes
I will wait for my miracle
I know you can
I know you’ll make away

Bridge:
The matter fit to take so long
It breaks my heart
That I even have to wait so long
But Lord, I will trust in you
Hold on to your every word
I will wait for you
Lord, I will wait

Chorus:
I will wait
I will wait for my miracle
I will wait
I will wait for my miracle
No matter what it takes
I will wait for my miracle
I know you can
I know you’ll make away
