I had the good fortune to hear this song’s songwriter Courtney King perform the chorus a few years ago. I could tell it was unique the moment I saw it! I couldn’t stop humming that song over and over again! It’s quite straightforward but immensely uplifting. This song almost has a hymn-like flow to it and is filled with so many familiar aspects. It serves as a reminder that there are numerous reasons why the Lord is deserving of our greatest regard every day.
The song highlights various attributes of God’s unwavering word “He’s the same yesterday, now and forever”. “Oh, my soul gives thanks unto the Lord”. The song also reminds us of His character, what He’s done, and what He will also do: ‘Healer’, ‘Deliverer’,’ Mighty God’.
