It’s finally here: Bsenjo’s highly anticipated single, which has been dubbed the year’s best collaboration. The single “Trumpet Sound,” which features the Soweto Gospel Choir, was released to much fanfare, but it was well worth it!
The music has a central and southern African gospel rhythm with an afrocentric focus. The Soweto Gospel Choir’s choral performance is the piece’s high point. The urgency and significance of our Lord Jesus Christ’s second coming are also stressed in Bsenjo’s verses.
Despite having Cameroonian ancestry, Bsenjo expanded her audience to include the entire African continent as well as the rest of the world. As a result, the song is primarily sung in English, with some Soweto Gospel chants.
On August 29, 2022, Belinda Senjo celebrated her 30th birthday. She spent some time working in the traditional music industry and put out singles that were well received. After taking a break from music, she returned in 2021 with the song and music video for “Risen Lord” as a gospel music performer. She has done well-known covers, gaining a sizable social media following. There are songs by Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Tasha Cobbs, and CeCe Winans that are covered in this collection. She submitted audition tapes for America’s Got Talent in 2014 and 2017 before deciding to publish her own music.
Bsenjo wishes that everyone who hears the song “Trumpet Sound” will find it to be a blessing. She hopes it will also result in an awareness of sinful self and a need for repentance.
