Parish Priest retires after 12 years of service

         Canon Brian O’Shea who was the parish priest of St Thomas of Canterbury Roman Catholic Church, East Thurrock Road and St Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, Stifford Clays, has stepped down.

 

         Whilst the popular priest was unable to enjoy the usual farewell Mass and party due to Coronavirus restrictions, parish secretary, Karen Ingram, ensured that a special collection and book with pictures and messages was organised.
      Father Brian was awarded a Freedom of the Borough award by the Mayor of Thurrock in May. Father Martin Hardy is Father Brian’s successor.
